SANAC Endorses National HIV And Aids Plan

The newly constituted South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) was launched in Kempton Park Monday and endorsed the new comprehensive National Strategic Plan for HIV, AIDS and STI for 2007-2011. The council, chaired by Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka officially brought together government and civil society in a renewed partnership against HIV and AIDS.

Ms Edna Gwashavanhu (62), of Nyava Village in Musana communal lands, said she does not wear gloves when conducting her midwifery duties because her church does not permit her to do so.
